Hotel Adlon
Voted ‘Hotel of the Century’ by Time magazine in 1999, Hotel Adlon is one of the great historical hotels of Berlin. Constructed in 1907, with the help of Kaiser Wilhelm II, over the decades the rich and famous, such as Einstein, Rockefeller, Charlie Chaplin and Marlene Dietrich, have always stayed in this hotel. Located very near to the Brandenburg Gate in central Berlin, the Adlon retains its luxurious and historical feel; the restaurants, bars and banquet rooms – especially the Grand Ballroom – are a wonderful reminder of its glorious past. Yet it also offers the most up-to-date services and facilities, especially for business travellers, with state-of-the-art conference rooms, a business centre and specially designed business suites, which offer a separate working area, with desk and fax machine, as well as a kitchenette. There are even six rooms specifically designed for allergy sufferers.

Hotel Igel
Located near the Tegeler lake and forest, in the middle of a tranquil, green backdrop, the Igel (meaning ‘hedgehog’) is a newly built hotel block. It is run as a small family business, so guests enjoy the advantages of a very personal service and friendly hospitality. The basic rooms are modern, comfortable and clean – all are en suite. In this quiet oasis, the turbulent city seems worlds away, although is only around the corner. The picturesque surroundings make up for any lack of style or facilities.

Pension Modena and Pension Dittberner
These two popular guesthouses, the Modena and the Dittberner, are both situated in the same building, just off Kurfürstendamm. Although they profit from a very convenient central location, they are situated in a quiet street. Bright, generously designed rooms, high ceilings and white walls covered with modern art add a feel of airiness and space to this charming, old house. All rooms are en suite but there are few other facilities. However, business or leisure travellers with a tight budget will find these two places the best value in town.
